Saturdays at The Gatlinburg Farmers Market
In Tennessee, we enjoy clean, simple country living, and that means taking advantage of all nature’s bounty amid the magnificent Great Smoky Mountains.
On Saturdays from 8:30 am until 12 noon, you can experience a bit of what makes our region of the world so special at the Gatlinburg Farmers Market. Now in its 11th season, the Farmers Market prides itself on bringing longtime residents and visitors the finest, freshest locally-sourced fruits, vegetables, berries, nuts, jams, jellies, baked goods, and much more. In addition to the top Tennessee grown produce, you’ll also find a variety of baked goods, flowers and plants, and natural health and wellness products, all crafted according to old fashioned Appalachian know-how. As you browse the various booths, you’ll also be treated to live music performed by some of the best musicians here in the Smokies.

Memorial Day
The last Monday in May is celebrated as Memorial Day in the US. Did you know Memorial Day is also called Decoration Day? On this day, we honor those who died in any war while serving the United States.
Besides getting together with family and friends and enjoying good food, we should take time to count our blessings of freedom and peace. Traditionally, Memorial Day is considered the beginning of the summer holiday season. As usual, many families plan a vacation in Gatlinburg TN this summer. One even we would like to draw your attention to is Running with the Bears. This 5K race through downtown Gatlinburg starts at 10pm on Friday night, at the end of May. In 2020, the date is May 29. If you do not feel like running or walking the race, at least you can come watch and cheer on the brave. Maybe you will get inspired to start training for a 5K in the future.
Summer Is Here
We did not exactly have winter in Tennessee, but we sure had a beautiful spring and now we are having a summer. The Roaring Fork River flowing by Zoder’s Inn in Gatlinburg TN helps to cool things down around our property.
Here come the dog days of summer. Please remember to bring sunblock as you come to the mountains to visit. As you walk through the streets of downtown Gatlinburg, you may not always be in a shaded area. Don’t get a sunburn in the Smokies. Another thing to remember to take along is a water bottle. Keeping hydrated is essential throughout the year, but especially in the summer months. We lose a lot of water through perspiration. Last but not least, please do not feed wildlife and dispose of your trash in bear-proof containers. Trash kills bears. Human food kills bears. Let us be mindful of that.
The National Park Reopened
The Great Smoky Mountains National Park has opened on May 9, as part of a phased reopening process. Most trails are open and the restrooms are open as well. The picnic areas or camping sites are still closed at this time.
Tennessee has worked together with North Carolina and the Nation of Cherokee to coordinate the re-opening of this national park. Many guests who stay in hotels near Gatlinburg TN enjoy hiking and spending time in nature, relaxing in fresh air and admiring mountain flora. At this point, nobody knows when Phase 2 will start. The Park will monitor the quickly changing conditions in the area due to COVID-19 and will make decisions accordingly. We all hope and pray for the best. We take the health and safety of our guests seriously.
Many Restaurants Reopened in May
On our website, zoders.com, as well as on our Facebook page and Instagram account, you can find a list of 40 restaurants that have reopened in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge.
Many others are open. We just did not check with all. With more than 100 restaurants in Sevier County, you will always have lots of options, even if only half of them reopened on May 1. For particular restaurants, you do not see on our list, feel free to check on their website. Those who are open will offer takeout and curbside delivery and/or dining in at half capacity. For parties larger than six, they will seat you at different tables, six feet apart. This is only for Phase 1 of re-opening Tennessee. We do not know when Phase 2 will start. Just like you, the staff at Zoder’s Inn and Suites closely monitors official guidelines for a safe reopening process.
Anakeesta in Gatlinburg
One of the latest additions to an already exciting list of Gatlinburg attractions has been Anakeesta. This Cherokee Indian name means “place of the balsams,” with reference to high ground. Many peaks around Gatlinburg, like Charlie’s Bunion, Chimney Tops, and Mount Kephart, comprise the Anakeesta Formation, a massive rock layer, for instance.
Anakeesta, the attraction, offers exciting views once you make it to the summit in one of their gondolas. Over 70 acres of pristine mountain terrain, most of which came from a purchase from the Pi Beta Phi sorority, promise an authentic outdoor experience. Many spring breakers have found that adding Anakeesta to their list of things to do in Gatlinburg has offered them tremendous memories and picture opportunities.
Home away from home
Families across the southeast enjoy the hotels Gatlinburg TN offers. These hotels have a clean, family-friendly atmosphere, and many have pools and free breakfast.
April temperatures do not always allow for sun tanning, but when the weather is nice, hotel guests love being able to lounge at the pool. The flowers have bloomed and there is no denying that spring has arrived. Azaleas are blooming and birds are chirping. For hikers, Smoky Mountains hotels provide a home away from home where they can recharge their batteries before tackling the next trail. There’s nothing like breathing in the clean, fresh, mountain air and moving your muscles as you hike.
Happy Easter
Gatlinburg hotels on the strip are beautifully decorated for Easter.
We hope your family had a wonderful holiday weekend and that you are already experiencing the power of renewal and hope that comes with such sacred occasions. Has the Easter Bunny brought you a bit of chocolate, too? Life is better with chocolate. Our town serves people who come to rest, relax, and renew their strength throughout the year. We enjoy helping families reconnect with each other. Zoder’s Inn is one of the Gatlinburg hotels on the river. If you enjoy white noise provided by mother nature, Zoder’s Inn should be your next destination. The Roaring Fork River runs by our property. Guests enjoy going to bed with that soothing sound or waking up with a cup of coffee on the balconies overlooking the river.
A View to a Thrill
Most of our frequent guests know that Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies is one of the best facilities of its kind in the region, and they offer a variety of special events and activities for their visitors.
Most of our frequent guests know that Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies is one of the best facilities of its kind in the region, and they offer a variety of special events and activities for their visitors. However, many may not know that the aquarium now offers a thrilling and educational opportunity. If you’re ready to get an exciting and closeup view of nurse sharks, sand tiger sharks, sea turtles, sawfish, and green moray eels, you can now climb aboard a Ripley’s Glass Bottom Boat for a fun and fascinating ride.
You’ll glide over the placid waters of Shark Lagoon, with a mere three inches between you and the almost 85,000 denizens and 75 amazing species who occupy the lagoon, including those from Caribbean reefs and tropical Atlantic Ocean waters. You’ll learn while you cruise with narration by expert guides who will provide facts about the various creatures who inhabit Shark Lagoon. Each boat is 16 feet long, with a large pane of glass for optimal observation, and boats head out for Shark Lagoon every 10 minutes, making this an ideal activity for busy vacationers.
Vacation in Gatlinburg TN
If you are planning your summer vacation in Gatlinburg TN, you might want to take stock of your hiking gear.
If you are planning your summer vacation in Gatlinburg TN, you might want to take stock of your hiking gear. This is the time to do some shopping for a good pair of hiking boots and a light jacket that packs easily. Come prepared. If you forget anything, like a hat or a pair of binoculars, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park stores will get you ready for the hike in no time.
A book on day hikes in the Smokies would come in handy, too. Internet searches are overrated. A little book guide you can pack in your rucksack is so useful. You can choose hiking trails based on terrain, level of difficulty, duration, and accessibility. If you bring a furry friend along, please be aware that there are only two trails where pets are allowed: the Gatlinburg Trail and the Oconaluftee River Trail.
Spring Break
What are you doing for spring break? Why not come to the Smokies?
What are you doing for spring break? Why not come to the Smokies? Put away your devices and unplug from your internet connection. Go on a hike and reconnect with Mother Nature. Listen to the chirping birds, breathe in the fresh mountain air, and enjoy some feel-good food.
Restore your zest for life with a week or a weekend in Gatlinburg during your spring break. The most visited national park in the nation offers numerous opportunities for hiking, fishing, and sightseeing. You can discover what is in Gatlinburg Tennessee together with your children, family, or friends.
This is the time of the year when bears come out of hibernation and they are hungry. Keep your distance because these majestic creatures are not teddy bears.
Don’t Stop Believin’
Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Jonathan Cain from the iconic band Journey came to Gatlinburg to give a concert on February 28, 2020, as part of the 2nd annual Tennessee Songwriters Week. He told stories about how he came up with some of his music and sang both Journey classics and Christian rock pieces he had written since his conversion.
When he was a struggling musician living in California, Cain called his dad up to ask for another loan once. Feeling discouraged, Cain told his dad he felt like quitting the dream of becoming a rock star. His dad told him, “Don’t stop believing.” A few years later, when Steve Perry asked Cain to come up with an anthem song, Cain said, “I don’t have a song, but I have a title: ‘Don’t stop believing.’”
Gatlinburg offers amazing opportunities to meet with music legends such as Jonathan Cain in an intimate setting, so put Tennessee Songwriters Week on your calendar for 2021. It is on the last week of February. Book your stay with Zoder’s Inn Gatlinburg while you’re at it.
Lamb and Lion Weather
They say March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb. This may be more of a saying and a rhyme rather than a true weather predictor, but we like it.
They say March comes in like a lion and out like a lamb. This may be more of a saying and a rhyme rather than a true weather predictor, but we like it. And, in some years, it is actually true. Regardless, March has very changeable weather, from unseasonably warm temperatures to late-season snow storms.
When you come to Gatlinburg in March, you must plan accordingly. Our mountain trails can be a study in all four seasons. You may start out in spring or even summer, if the temperature is in the 70s, and see signs of fall leaves on the ground. On higher elevations, you get into winter as you run into patches of snow on the ground in shaded areas.
Bring the right hiking gear and explore comfortably by wearing layers. A water bottle and a snack will keep you energized for the hike, while a hat helps keep the sun or the wind at bay. When you return to your hotel in Gatlinburg TN, you will have lots of pictures to share with your friends on social media.

Leap Year – 2020
How will you celebrate Leap Day? Will you leap for joy?
How will you celebrate Leap Day? Will you leap for joy? Sorry, I could not resist. But if you were a Leap Day baby, 2020 should be very special, like any other Leap Year.
A friend of mine is bursting with excitement because his birthday is on February 29. He will actually get a birthday this year.
We are sure you will have fun if you come to the mountains, birthday or not. You can do so many things in the Smokies. If the weather is good, hiking is the recommended activity. But if not, you can stick around the Downtown area and wait out the rain by shopping, sipping a cup of tea, or visiting an attraction. Gatlinburg Tennessee attractions offer something for everyone.
Presidents’ Day – 2020
Tennessee and Texas are connected in many ways, not just through Davy Crockett and the Alamo story.
Tennessee and Texas are connected in many ways, not just through Davy Crockett and the Alamo story. For instance, these states have contributed the most presidents, namely three each.
From Tennessee, we have Andrew Jackson, Andrew Johnson, and James Polk – in case you were wondering. From Texas, we have the Bushes, father and son, and Lyndon Johnson.
A Gatlinburg vacation around Presidents’ Day will be very patriotic, as the city always decorates with lots and lots of flags on a national day like this. It is a sight to behold. As they remove the Winter Fest and Valentine’s Day lights, city workers make sure flags tell the story of our nation’s presidents.
Happy Valentine’s Day - 2020
For your Valentine’s Day celebrations, may we suggest the Smokies?
Zoders Inn and Suites Gatlinburg is located on a stream called the Roaring Fork River. Our balconies overlook the rushing mountain stream, allowing for great relaxation in the white noise. For your Valentine’s Day celebrations, may we suggest the Smokies?
When we visited Florida last summer, we talked to a couple of people about living in the mountains. Those of us living in the mountains go to the beach for a vacation. The people who live by the beach all year long come to the mountains for their time off.
I said, “When we get tired of the mountains, we come to the beach.” One of the Floridians asked wistfully, “Does one ever get tired of the mountains?” He had a point. We do not actually “get tired” of living in the mountains. We just need a change of pace, a change of scenery.
Whether your relationship just started or it has been blessing your soul for decades, hiking in the Smokies will give you great couple time. Hotels in Gatlinburg are decorated beautifully for this holiday.
Winter or Wimper?
This winter has not exactly done much to earn its name.
This winter has not exactly done much to earn its name. We had some snow in November, which disrupted certain gatherings, but nothing else. Children in Gatlinburg in Tennessee are longing for snow. They are taunting winter by calling it wimper.
Zoder's Inn takes advantage of the warm temperatures to forge ahead in our remodeling efforts. The tower suites are coming along nicely. So are the flower beds.
As we finished January, we stopped looking backwards and forwards simultaneously, like Jannus, the Roman god with two faces. He was, if you remember, the god of beginnings and of endings, of transitions and of duality, of gates and passages. Now, we only look forward.
The transition into 2020 seems complete. February has begun – a long February, with 29 days. It is a special year with 366 days and we only get to celebrate it again in 2024. Make it a good one – come to the mountains.
A Berry Special Wine Trail
This Valentine’s Day, we suggest making the day extra special by trying something completely different.
This Valentine’s Day, we suggest making the day extra special by trying something completely different. Skip the traditional and carry your tribute to Cupid over to February 15, with a romantic journey filled with fabulous food and wonderful wines. Your trip begins and ends with the Rocky Top Wine Trail, where you’ll travel to not one, but three wineries, and sample delicious wines paired with decadent chocolate and delectable berries. Whether you’re seasoned oenophiles or newbies to the world of wine, you’ll savor these selections from these three noted Southeastern wineries, and you’ll also receive a commemorative wine glass as a souvenir.
Start out at the Mountain Valley Winery, where you can opt for a glass of Mountain Valley White or Mountain Berry with a whimsical chocolate and berry pairing as a starter. Move on Hillside Winery for the main course, with their Barbera or Black & Blue wines for the meal. Afterward, finish up the trail at Mill Bridge Winery for their Mountain Falls or Grindstone wines, accompanied by a decadent chocolate and berry cake and truffle. A toast to your celebration, and Bon Appetit!
Sunshine and Remodeling
We all enjoy seeing sunshine, especially during winter. No matter how cold it is outside, if the sun is shining, we feel better about our day
We all enjoy seeing sunshine, especially during winter. No matter how cold it is outside, if the sun is shining, we feel better about our day. As we approach the last few days of January, we hope you have sunshine where you live.
At Zoders Inn and Suites, rain or shine, our remodeling crew is working hard inside the tower suites. You will like the results of their efforts. Next time you visit, book a tower suite, to enjoy the fresh interiors.
People consider Zoders one of the nice hotels in Gatlinburg TN because we invest a lot in the maintenance of our property. We take pride in our work and it shows.
Winter Doldrums
To banish the winter doldrums, make your way to the Smoky Mountains. Many hotels in Gatlinburg TN offer reduce prices in winter, so a mountain vacation is more affordable than ever.
To banish the winter doldrums, make your way to the Smoky Mountains. Many hotels in Gatlinburg TN offer reduce prices in winter, so a mountain vacation is more affordable than ever. Why feel stagnated and depressed when you could be active in nature? The trails are beautiful in winter, if you bring the right clothes and a granola bar or two. A thermos with warm tea will also help you make the most of your time in the National Park.
Since birds are actively seeking berries right now and most leaves are gone, bird watching is easier now than in the summer. Birds desperately look for food and put a lot of their caution away, getting closer to people and situations they would not normally approach. Do not feel the wildlife. But feel free to observe their habits.
Winter Wonderland
Depending on where you live, you might have a lot of snow, or none at all. At Ober Gatlinburg, in January, you will find a winter wonderland for sure.
Depending on where you live, you might have a lot of snow, or none at all. At Ober Gatlinburg, in January, you will find a winter wonderland for sure. When our family took ski lessons up there, the instructors told us the snow they make there will prepare you to ski on any terrain.
Some people think they must go to Utah or Colorado for some really good skiing, but Ober is excellent for all levels of skiers. The beginners can be on their slopes and the more advanced skiers can take the longer, higher slopes.
Don’t forget you can also ice skate at Ober Gatlinburg, year round. They also have snow tubing and other snow-related fun. Spending a day at Ober is just one of the many things to do in Gatlinburg in January.
Happy New Year 2020!
For those of us born before the year 2000, it feels surreal to think about 2020. But here we are, saddling up to another year
For those of us born before the year 2000, it feels surreal to think about 2020. But here we are, saddling up to another year – a leap year at that. Before you launch into a list of new year’s resolutions, you could just take a moment and write down a list of blessings. The word blessing may be confusing to some. A blessing is something or somebody in your life that makes you happy, content, secure, confident, and joyful.
In fact, this could be one of your new year’s resolutions: every day, before you jump out of bed and start your day, think of three things or people in your life that are positive. It does not have to be something you own. Think experiences. If you have ever visited Gatlinburg, you know you are thankful for Gatlinburg attractions, where you made some wonderful memories with your loved ones. Good memories are worth more than gold. Visualize yourself back in Gatlinburg and you just might find yourself here soon.

Moonshine has come a long way from the bad old days. Today’s moonshine is a legal, finely distilled, and flavored product that is worthy of the term “spirits.” Additionally, such flavors as butterscotch, apple pie, peach, sweet tea, and many others leave us with more of a craft brew experience. Gatlinburg and the surrounding areas offer a variety of this “white lightning” libation, along with tours and tastings located throughout the area. Four of our faves are listed here.

Ring in the new year in Gatlinburg
Can you believe it will be 2020 soon? Those of us born before the 1980s are stunned to see the calendar change to such a round figure. Even the Millennials are coming of age now.

I remember being small and looking forward to the year 2000, wondering why I was allowed to live during the turn of the century. Then, I remember when 2010 showed up. My second child was born that year and we thought the math will always be easy to calculate how old she is.
Will you ring in the new year in Gatlinburg? There are several Gatlinburg vacation packages you can find and we hope you enjoy your stay. Happy New Year!
Jingle All The Way
Jingle bells, jingle bells. If you do not hear bells ringing by now, something must be wrong. No matter what kind of Christmas you celebrate (secular or religious), we hope you experience peace, joy, and love now and every day.

Life is short. Magical Gatlinburg vacations await. Put troubles and worries behind you, as Sinatra sings, and choose to hope for a better tomorrow. You do not have problems that cannot be solved. Twenty years after the Y2K scare, humanity is still here, innovating, learning to communicate with each other, and preparing to visit other planets. Move forward in the hope of a better future. Merry Christmas!

We have put the wildfires of 2016 behind us. From the ashes, Gatlinburg has revived itself and set new records of visitors and other hospitality parameters. Around this time three years ago, the town was re-opened to visitors and we felt the love as tourists came back in droves. Thank you to all who have come back to support the city in its recovery efforts.
Drive Safely
The other day, at Light #1 in Gatlinburg, I had to stop as the light turned red. There were cars coming from the other direction and my intention was to turn left to use the Dudley Creek Bypass. Tourists on their way to Gatlinburg Falls Resort know this road. Locals use it as a shortcut towards Highway 321.

This lady behind me shook her head and clearly said something disapproving of my slowing down on a yellow light. Sorry, but I will not rush to turn left on a yellow light with oncoming traffic speeding towards me. No matter how angry you get.
One of the most visited towns in the United States, Gatlinburg has its fair share of traffic incidents. When you all come to visit, keep your wits about you and drive safely. Plan for extra time and plan your meals so you do not get hangry in traffic.
Christmas Lights
Welcome to the last month of 2019! Many a Smoky Mountains hotel are teeming with guests this time of year. Winter is just as exciting in Gatlinburg as any other season. The Christmas lights are on, so bring the little ones to experience the wonder of the season.

As you drive through Pigeon Forge on your way to Gatlinburg, you can see images from the 12 Days of Christmas. Five gold rings, four calling birds, three French hens, and the partridge in a pear tree – yes, that’s the one. It will also take you all the way to the 12 Lords a leaping and challenge you to remember the lyrics of the song. On Teaster Lane in Pigeon Forge, they have Mother Goose imagery. Really fun for small children.
Don’t Skip Over Thanksgiving
Are you ready for Christmas yet? We barely started the month of November and people ask you that question already. Whatever happened to Thanksgiving, right?
Are you ready for Christmas yet? We barely started the month of November and people ask you that question already. Whatever happened to Thanksgiving, right? We all need to take Thanksgiving back.
Get a book about the First Thanksgiving which matches the ages of your children and read about it in the evening, during your family time together. We plan to do this again this year.
For most people, Thanksgiving represents the dearest holiday. Mom’s cooking, no materialistic details, no crazy shopping just for the sake of handing a present over to somebody. Just family and friends getting together to enjoy food and time together. So don’t skip over Thanksgiving. This year, or the next, or the next.
Many hotels at Gatlinburg TN offer suites with fully equipped kitchens where your family can cook a full Thanksgiving menu. Zoder’s Inn gets booked for Thanksgiving a year in advance, but you can certainly check availability now. You never know.
We Gather Together
Do you remember that old hymn, “We Gather Together?”
Do you remember that old hymn, “We Gather Together?” With its Dutch origin, it certainly takes us back to the First Thanksgiving and the pilgrims who came over from Holland (though originally from England). The hymn was composed in 1597 – can you believe it? That was a long time ago. So glad somebody preserved it for us to enjoy 500 years later and counting.
The Pilgrims arrived in the New World in 1620 and so they were contemporaries with this song. As hard as it is for us to imagine, these people faced terrible hardships to get to the other side of the Atlantic in order to worship according to their convictions. For their sacrifice, we are thankful.
If you celebrate Thanksgiving with family and/or friends in Gatlinburg this year, just know that the traffic on Black Friday beats any other traffic you have ever experienced in the Smokies. Better stay put at your hotel and shop online. If you stay in one of the hotels River Road Gatlinburg TN offers, you will have a hard time getting in and out of the parking garages. Just sayin’.
Making Memories
Are you making memories with your children in the Smokies this year, for Thanksgiving? We hope so.
Recently, my family and I watched “Interstellar,” the sci-fi movie with Matt Damon, Matthew McConaughey, and Anne Hathaway. One line that stood out was this: “When we become parents, we realize we are here only to make memories for the children.” Are you making memories with your children in the Smokies this year, for Thanksgiving? We hope so.
Children will remember the fun and fellowship and they will certainly remember the food. So make an effort and get your family into a Smoky Mountains hotel this November. Embrace the season, the traffic, the experience. Time only goes forward and you can never have these moments back with your children.
Resorts Gatlinburg
There are several resorts Gatlinburg offers, but many may not exactly know their locations.

Gatlinburg Craftsmen’s Fair
Gatlinburg Tennessee news would not be complete in the fall without a report on the Craftmen’s Fair.

Fall Equals Romance
Things are right on track with fall: decorations, green leaves turning yellow, orange, and red, and lots of apples and pumpkins everywhere.
The other week, we saw a meme on Facebook: “It’s fall in Tennessee. You know what that means… Nothing. Absolutely nothing. It’s still 90 degrees out.” And, yes, it is true. In the morning, the temperatures have dropped some, in the range of 57F-67F. But once the afternoon rolls around, we are looking at 82F-92F.
Also, we are in a bit of a drought. It has not rained really well since August 26 in Sevier County. We need the rain badly.
Otherwise, things are right on track with fall: decorations, green leaves turning yellow, orange, and red, and lots of apples and pumpkins everywhere. And romance. We see honeymooners and couples without children, a sign that fall can be as romantic as any other time of the year. You might wonder how many romantic hotels Gatlinburg TN offers. Well, plenty. Some top hotels in Gatlinburg TN are tucked away from the busy downtown area and even have balconies overlooking a creek. If you search, you will find.

He roasted marshmallows outside. Humpty Dumpty also carved a pumpkin. What is fall without pumpkin carving? He read a book by a roaring wood fireplace. Yes, indeed, Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
The question is, will you? Will you have a great fall? No matter what you do, your fall promises to be great if you also make your way to the mountains. The colorful leaves are calling.

You know exactly what you were doing eighteen years ago, on September 11. We all know what we were doing on that fateful day when the US got attacked by terrorists who flew planes into three of our most symbolic buildings.
This week, as we mark the 18th anniversary of that tragic day, take time to give something back to your community or your family. Find a cause you feel passionate about and volunteer or make a donation. Spend more time with your family. Hug a friend. Forgive somebody from your past. Life is short and 9/11 can be that reminder.
Take this time to plan a family reunion in the Smokies. Have you heard about the pavilion at Zoder’s Inn and Suites? It is perfect for small weddings and gatherings. The really important things in life do not cost money.

Labor Day, Hurricane Week
With Hurricane Dorian headed for the US, many Floridians have made their way to Gatlinburg
With Hurricane Dorian headed for the US, many Floridians have made their way to Gatlinburg. After a busy Labor Day weekend, new hotels in Gatlinburg do not get a rest. Neither do older hotels. Gatlinburg hotels now house the evacuees from Dorian’s path.
We feel for all people who have to leave their houses and pets behind and get out of nature’s path in a natural disaster. Nobody in Gatlinburg will forget the night we had to leave because of the wildfires of 2016. Therefore, we want to extend our hospitality to Floridians and other Southerners who had to leave their homes due to Dorian. Some hotels, likes Zoder’s Inn, will offer a discount.
As they always say, property can be replaced, but human lives cannot. Stay safe, get out of the harm’s way, and make a Smokies vacation out of it.
Zoder’s Inn, the Resort
One resort Gatlinburg has had for a long time is Zoder’s Inn and Suites.
One resort Gatlinburg has had for a long time is Zoder’s Inn and Suites. Wallace and Dorotha Zoder moved to Gatlinburg from Louisiana before there was a National Park. When they started renting out cottages to the few tourists who came to the mountains in the 40s and 50s, little did they know how busy this town was going to become.
Wallace and Dorotha did not see the arrival of www.zoders.com or our different social media channels. However, their dedication to hospitality lives on. Their staff, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren take pride in offering tourists a home away from home.
