Supporters at the River Raft Regatta

Mark your calendar and start stashing away anything that floats – rubber ducks, Frisbees, your favorite flip-flops. It’s time to start building a river-worthy raft for Gatlinburg’s popular River Raft Regatta. The fun kicks off downtown at noon on July 4 on the Little Pigeon River, bringing locals and lots of guests of Gatlinburg hotels to compete in this unmanned river raft race. Build a boat using anything that floats, except balls or plastic eggs (naturally), and let the fun begin. Register and mingle with your fellow competitors between 10 am and noon at the Christ in the Smokies bridge. And remember, the race is on July 4, making American flag sails a properly patriotic flourish.
