Leef Peeping Season

Harvest scene of dried corn and pumpkins in a row
Hotels near Smoky Mountains are gearing up for leaf peeping season. The pumpkins, hay bales and corn stalks are out. Gatlinburg boasts thousands of flowers on the streets, too, as usual. A friend of mine, visiting from Spain, thought all these flowers were hanging pretty from their baskets for some sort of holiday. I said, “No. Gatlinburg is always this pretty.”
A lot of people like to drive through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park this time of the year, to look at the wonderful foliage changing colors. But why drive when you can also hike? Or do both, really.
Staying in hotels near Gatlinburg TN is a great idea this time of the year, so you can be close to the action. The roads through the Park get really crowded, so an even better idea would be to stay in a Gatlinburg TN hotel.
