October Features Spooktacular Fun

Fall in the Smokies offers brilliantly-hued foliage, an Oktoberfest, and more Halloween fun than you can shake a mountain-sized stick at. There’s so much to do here that we find our guests occasionally have trouble deciding between it all, so listed here are just a couple of suggestions. First, check out Dollywood’s latest autumn tradition: Great Pumpkin LumiNights. During the park’s Harvest Festival, thousands of illuminated Jack-o’-lanterns will be on display throughout the Timber Canyon and Wilderness Pass areas.

Say hello to Vine Vinny and Harvey the Pumpkin and watch pumpkin-carving demonstrations, or have your face decked out with glow-in-the-dark paint. Luscious seasonal treats include warm, Coca-Cola apple cider, cotton candy, and sliced candy apples. Also, don’t miss out on Gatlinburg’s 9th Annual OktOBERfest at Ober Gatlinburg through October 28. Stuff yourself with schnitzel, bratwurst, sauerkraut, and other Bavarian-style food from our OktOBERfest menu, and wash it all down with a variety of beer from featured breweries in our outdoor Bier Garten. The highlight of the fest will be the folk dancing, oompah music, yodeling, and more by the lederhosen-clad Bavarian Fun Makers. For details, call (800) 568-4748.
