Rafting and Rollin’ on the River

rubber ducky race

Join us this July for a fabulously fun and traditional Independence Day event: the Gatlinburg River Raft Regatta. This annual race of unmanned floating objects is one of the highlights of the city’s July 4th celebration. The Regatta begins at noon, with contestants placing their entries at the Christ in the Smokies Bridge on the Little Pigeon River. Be sure to get there early to find yourself a prime spot to cheer on the entries as they cross the finish line at Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies.

Trophies will be awarded to those who finish 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the Treasure and Most Creative Float categories. Also, up your spectator status by renting a rubber duck – for only one dollar, you can help out the Gatlinburg Chamber Foundation and be a part of this thrilling event. You may even win a trophy of your own! For more information, call (800) 588-1817.
