Valentine’s Day, Smoky Mountain Style

This month, make your Valentine’s Day extra-special with these Smoky Mountain events. First, all month at the Titanic Museum is Titanic Sweetheart Month. This event is intended to honor lovers everywhere, but particularly the 12 honeymooning couples who were aboard during the ship’s maiden voyage. You can pop the question, exchange vows, or renew them on the Grand Staircase, or simply take a complete tour of this gorgeous, half-scale replica of the original Titanic. Next, don't be afraid to sleep with the fishes when Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies presents “Sips and Sharks” on February 15-16.

You and your sweetie can sleep beneath the shark lagoon, take a special, behind-the-scenes tour of the aquarium, enjoy drinks, hor d’ouevres, and a cash bar. Lastly, race down a snowy slope together, or book a skating session at Ober Gatlinburg, and hold hands as you skate along, side-by-side. Then, adjourn slopeside for hot chocolate to warm up. Or, head over to Pigeon Forge Snow, and go snow-tubing! They’re open year round, with a 100 percent chance of snow that’s always 60-70 degrees inside, so you don’t need to wrap up for the winter fun.
