We Are Gatlinburg Strong
Two weeks after the wildfire devastation in Gatlinburg, life is slowly getting back to normal. Cleaning and re-building have begun. The city welcomed back tourists last Friday. We saw cars from North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, Missouri, Mississippi, Alabama, Illinois, Massachusetts, Texas and Florida.
Ripley's Aquarium re-opened with a report that all the animals survived and the building sustained no damage. Many people promised to spend their vacation in Gatlinburg Tennessee to help hotels, restaurants and shops gain much needed revenue to make Gatlinburg magical again.
The wildfire made national news. Naturally, some people wondered where is Gatlinburg in Tennessee. They found out. Too bad it had to happen this way, but this brought even more awareness about our little mountain town and the beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. We expect Gatlinburg 2.0 to be even more beautiful and inspiring than its earlier version.
