The Great Smoky Mountains National Park has opened on May 9, as part of a phased reopening process. Most trails are open and the restrooms are open as well. The picnic areas or camping sites are still closed at this time. Read more

One of the latest additions to an already exciting list of Gatlinburg attractions has been Anakeesta. This Cherokee Indian name means “place of the balsams,” with reference to high ground.
